  • HREC Investment Advisors – December 2009 to present – Senior Vice President – Brokerage and investment banking company providing services exclusively to the hospitality industry. 

  • Sexton Realty Advisors – 2003 to 2009 - Owner – Provided real estate advisory services to institutional and private investors. Indicative engagements included:

    • Acquisition advisory services to several private equity funds relative to hospitality assets and fractured condominiums. Services included exclusive acquisition representation for one fund.

    • Business enterprise management for a publicly traded hospitality company on their conversion of a storied Miami Beach, FL resort hotel to condo-hotel.

    • Disposition advisory services to a publicly traded hospitality company relative to the sale of an underperforming real estate holding subsidiary.

    • Provided Due diligence, valuation, financial modeling and other acquisition-related responsibilities relative to the company’s proposed purchase of a $700+ million mixed-use resort property located in Florida.

    • Expert witness testimony for the owner of a luxury resort hotel in Miami Beach, FL.

  • Cendant Corporation – 2001 to 2002 – Special Projects – Directed and/or participated in various special projects for the company including:

    • Evaluating and underwriting timeshare company mergers and acquisitions in the United States and Europe.

    • Creation of a strategic development plan for the company’s Fairfield Resorts division.

    • Creation of a strategic development plan for the company’s RCI subsidiary in Europe. 

  • Sunterra Corporation – 1999 to 2001 – Corporate Vice President - As the company’s senior real estate professional, was responsible for all acquisition and development efforts, including managing a staff of six. When the company entered into chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2000, was senior corporate officer tasked with the workout and/or disposition of over $150 million in real estate assets. Key accomplishments included:

    • Acquisition of two resort properties.

    • Development of two resort properties.

    • Disposition of 25 resort properties, a process that included creating a strategic disposition plan, asset management during the disposition period, marketing the assets, negotiating purchase and sale agreements and court approval for the stalking horse bid process and closing the sales.

  • La Quinta Inns – 1996 to 1999 – Vice President – Responsible for acquisitions and new development throughout the western United States. Directed and/or participated in projects with a total investment of over $300 million.

  • PKF Consulting – 1988 to 1996 – Vice President – Based in the company’s Miami office, advised clients on the development of hotels/resorts, timeshare/condo projects, vacation home subdivisions and mixed-use projects. Project locations included the Caribbean, Mexico, Central/South America and throughout the United States. Assisted in the creation of a strategic development plan and ultimately in the roll-out of a new business class hotel chain developed by one of Mexico’s premier hospitality companies.
